Tarik Tuten, as the founding partner of TUTEN and its predecessor, Topkapi Endustri, has been a pioneer in industrial power generation and cogeneration in Turkey since the market opened to the private sector in 1986.
Tarik has led TUTEN in facilitating the sale and installation of more than 3,500 MWe of power plant capacity in Turkey and in the company’s international expansion into Russia and Central Asia. Tarik was born in Istanbul in 1958 and earned a Dipl.-Ing. in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in energy technologies from Karlsruhe University in 1982.
He also studied mechanical engineering at Stanford University’s Graduate School in 1982-83 and earned a Master of Science in Energy and Resources from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1985. Tarik completed his postgraduate studies in business administration at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
