Existing Project

160MW OBU Cement Power Plant – Nigeria

Scope of Project Management

KS Energy Africa delivered integrated project and construction management services, followed by Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services, to support the successful development and long-term operation of the power plant.

Project and Construction Management

Prior to mobilization of the operations team, KSE provided full project and construction management services under a multi-contract self-build EPC(M) structure. The project was supported by an on-site Project Director and a Project Engineer who oversaw overall project execution.

KSE coordinated and supervised the activities of all Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring that installation and commissioning activities were performed in accordance with project specifications, technical requirements, and approved schedules.

Project Controls and Reporting

KSE implemented comprehensive project control procedures, including:

  • Cost control and budget monitoring

  • Quality assurance oversight

  • Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) coordination

  • Regular progress reporting to the project owner

These measures ensured that the project was delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contractual and technical requirements.

Operations and Maintenance Services

Six months prior to the plant’s Commercial Operation Date (COD), KSE began mobilizing the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team to prepare the facility for reliable commercial operation.

The O&M scope included:

  • Mobilization and site preparation services

  • Plant operation and performance monitoring

  • Routine and daily maintenance activities

  • Coordination of planned maintenance with the OEMs

  • Execution of unplanned maintenance activities

  • Management of operational consumables

  • Additional operational support and maintenance work as required
